SCOPE OF WORK: A Millwright Trainee is an entry level Industrial Maintenance Mechanic who installs, dismantles, repairs, reassembles, and moves equipment. Works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent, performing installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of Blowers, Pumps, Electric Motors, Conveyor systems, Engine Driven Equipment and associated materials and equipment on any type project. |

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must perform all duties with a Safety first attitude and direct others towards a Safe work environment. Willing to learn to interpret blueprints, layout drawings or plans, and other drawings that are common to the industrial sector. Under supervision lays out work and preps materials for installation. Under supervision performs rigging and job set ups for all tasks performed or supervised. Through the guidance of supervision, performs fabrication and welding of support structures or plates to accommodate the installation of any equipment. Determines drill and threading sizes to secure equipment as necessary. Learns to install equipment while taking into consideration the effects of pipe stress from flanges that could be applied to installed equipment. Installs couplings, gears, sheaves, belts, and drive chains. With guidance from supervision, performs precise alignment of all coupling devices. With guidance from supervision, installs and connects lubrication systems, seal flush systems, and prepares sensing devices for the Electrical group. Through guidance from supervision, troubleshoots and resolves problems in lubrication systems, seal flush systems, failed bearings due to misalignments, and other similar types of systems or equipment. Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks. Understands and practices the safe operation of tools, use of equipment, fabrication and welding skills and rigging of equipment. Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor. Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures. |

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. Must understand theories of stress related failures due to misaligned equipment. Must be able to work occasional overtime as required.
Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. Experience None Required but Welding Capabilities a Plus |
